VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE - SATURDAY GAMES WITH SOME FACTS & STATS

Saturday 1st October
Vanarama National League Fixtures

Boreham Wood v Wrexham
The Welsh side have only gained four points from a possible eighteen on the road which came in a 2-3 win at bottom side Guiseley and a 2-2 draw at Wrexham. In the four defeats they have failed to score.
Chester v Dover Athletic
All four of Chester's victories have come at home. Dover are in good form having beaten York City away 1-0 and Lincoln City 2-0 at home in their last two games.
Dagenham & Redbridge v Tranmere Rovers - 5.30pm
The Daggers, who are top of the table, entertain Tranmere who were unbeaten in their first seven league games. Since then they have parted company with manager Gary Brabin and lost three from five games. They got back to winning ways last weekend with a 3-1 home victory over Woking so this game shown live on BTSport should be a really good one.
Forest Green Rovers v Barrow
Second v Fourth place makes this the game of the day. Forest Green Rovers have won their last two games 1-0 with Barrow unbeaten in seven games. The match will see two ex Ryman Premier Division players in opposing sides. Ethan Pinnock moved from Dulwich Hamlet to FGR with Moussa Diarra moving from Hampton and Richmond to Barrow over the summer.
Gateshead v Torquay United
Top marks and full respect to all of The Gulls fans who are making the long 750 mile + round trip to the North-East and back tomorrow. The Devon side have one win from six games on the road with Gateshead having a home record of three wins, two draws and one defeat at home.
Lincoln City v Braintree Town
An interesting game at Sincil Bank which pits former Braintree Town manager Danny Cowley against his old side now managed by Hakan Hayrettin following the departure of Jamie Day. Hayrettin has already signed Charlton Athletic forward Oliver Muldoon on loan - he played for Dagenham and Redbridge in League Two last season.
Macclesfield Town v North Ferriby United
3rd v 21st - the bookmakers make The Silkmen 4/11 odds on favourites with the struggling visitors best priced at 9/1 to gain an unexpected victory. NFU have failed to score in six of their last eight games with the other two being narrow 1-0 victories. 1.75 goals per game v 0.5 goals per game would suggest a 2-0 or 3-0 home win? The home side are priced at 10/11 to keep a clean sheet with skybet.com - could be decent investment?
Maidstone United v Solihull Moors
Both sides have made a decent start to life at non-league's top table. The Stones have struggled at home with just one win in six games at The Gallagher Stadium - they do like a draw with three ending all square. Solihull have one win out of six games on the road - expect this to be a close game and a possible draw which is 11/4 with the bookmakers.
Southport v Bromley
23rd v 20th - it's a bit early in the season for a relegation six-pointer but both sides will want to win this game and see it as winnable.
Sutton United v Guiseley
Sutton are another side to have made a good start on their return to Step One of the non-league ladder in particular at Gander Green Lane where they have won four and lost two of six games. Could it be thirteenth time lucky for the visitors who have not won yet this season? Adam Lockwood has recently been appointed manager and will be assisted by former Doncaster Rover's boss Dave Penney.
Woking v Eastleigh
All three of Woking's wins have come at home. The Spitfires, now under the management of Ronnie Moore, are unbeaten in eight league games - a run which has included five wins.
York City v Aldershot Town
The Shots have one win on their travels with all of York's three wins coming at home. The home side have failed to score in their last four league games - The Shots are unbeaten in seven games.
