SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS LEAGUE DIVISION ONE - UPDATE

Spartan South Midlands League
Division One - Current Table - Top Six Only
TEAM P W GD PTS
1.RISBOROUGH RANGERS 6 5 +6 16
2.KENSINGTON BOROUGH   7 4 +6 14
3.WODSON PARK  7 4 +5 13
4.BALDOCK TOWN  4 4 +8 12
5.BUCKINGHAM ATHLETIC  7 4 +5 12
6.BIGGLESWADE FC 5 4 +4 12

Risborough Rangers lead the early SSMFL Division One table with fourth placed Baldock Town looking good on four wins from four games currently in fourth place. Two new clubs to the division in Kensington Borough and Biggleswade FC have made excellent starts to the season along with Wodson Park and Buckingham Athletic. Risborough's only dropped points so far came somewhat surpringsly in a 2-2 draw away to Arlesey Town.

Josh Warren is the league's top scorer at present on an impressive total of 10 goals in seven starts and one substitute apperance for Broadfields United. The former Chelmsford City player also scored in their FA Vase victory at Risborough. Drew Mitton of Winslow United follows him with six in six games and Pat Daly of Langford on six in seven games.

Brimsdown FC are currently proping up the table on just one win in six games which makes Lloyd Barzey's five goals in five games for The Limers look decent

FORTHCOMING LEAGUE FIXTURES
SATURDAY 17th SEPTEMBER
Ampthill Town v Biggleswade FC
A huge game as sixth placed Biggleswade travel the short distance to face seventh placed Ampthill Town who have won all three of their home league games although they went down 2-3 to United Counties League Northampton Sileby Rangers in the FA Vase last weekend.
Baldock Town v Arlesey Town Reserves
Baldock Town should make it five out of five wins in this one but Arlesey do like to score goals hitting the back of the net ten times in their last four league and cup games - they have let in fourteen! Arlesey did hold Risborough to a 2-2 on Saturday 3rd September.
Brimsdown v Southall
Buckingham Athletic v Harefield United
Chesham United Reserves v Hillingdon Borough

WORK CONTINUING AT CODICOTE'S REVAMPED HOME THIS WEEK
Codicote v Broadfields United
18th v 13th on paper doesn't stand out from the fixture list but this is a historic game for everyone associated with the home side. Codicote, after over five years ground sharing most recently at the nearby Gosling Stadium, will celebrate their first game back home at a revamped John Clements Memorial Ground. This is extremely good news for all involved in the local game and more widely the local community. There is still some work to do at the stadium but the game will go ahead.
Harpenden Town v Hadley Wood & Wingate
Risborough Rangers v Hatfield Town
Wodson Park v Kensington Borough
3rd v 2nd - easily the game of the day in the SSMFL Division One.

SATURDAY 24th SEPTEMBER
Bedford v Buckingham Athletic
Harpenden Town v Risborough Rangers
Hatfield Town v Brimsdown
Both clubs are struggling towards the foot of the table so will look on this game as a good chance to get some points on the board.
Kensington Borough v Langford
Wodson Park v Ampthill Town

TUESDAY 27th SEPTEMBER
Biggleswade FC v Wodson Park
A good game at The Carlsberg Stadium between two of the teams in the top six of the table.

SATURDAY 1st OCTOBER
Arlesey Town Reserves v Harpenden Town
Baldock Town v Harefield United
Brimsdown v Winslow United
Broadfields United v Hatfield Town
Buckingham Athletic v Wodson Park
A tough away trip for Wodson Park against The Swans who have made a good start to the season.
Chesham United Reserves v Kensington Borough
Codicote v Risborough Rangers
Hadley Wood & Wingate v Hillingdon Borough
Langford v Southall
