ROVERS SCORE EIGHT - A DAY TO FORGET FOR THE ROSEY

It was the First Round of the  Hertfordshire Sunday Intermediate Cup today and TheColdEnd was present to see Welwyn Hatfield Sunday League Premier Division side The Rosey take on East Hertfordshire Corinthian Sunday League Division Two side Whitebridge Rovers.

The Rosey came into the game on the back of two good league victories agianst Hatfield Mosquito (4-2) and Bradmore Rovers (5-1).

Whitebridge Rovers are a new side formed over the summer and are based in Enfield Lock with their main sponsor being The Red Lion Pub. They won their first game 7-5 last weekend AET against 'The Gremlins' in the ORC League Challenge Cup First Round.

Whitebridge included Alex Cathline (who made a number of apperances for Enfield Town in 2015) who has been very impressive this season for Evo Stik Southern League Premier Division Dunstable Town this season - He scored a hat-trick along with Kieran Asamadu-Sakyi who also played who is currently with Ryman Premier Division Billericay Town, was a youth player with Tottenham Hotspur and spent time with Plymouth Argyle. He played for SSMFL Premier Division Cockfosters last season.

For The Rosey to go down 0-8 will be disapointing for them but when they come up against players of the quality Whitebridge had they can put this result behind them when back in action next weekend against Hatfield Seniors in the MACRON Welwyn Hatfield Sunday League Memorial Cup Game.

Whitebridge Rovers are in EHCL Division Two action next Sunday away to 'The Hertford Hounds' at Hartham Common in Herford.  Some match pictures are below -
