NINE GOALS AT NEW LOOK SILVER JUBILEE PARK

Some football fans tend to swerve pre-season games stating they aren't entertaining - that most certainly wasn't the case at Silver Jubilee Park on a glorious summer's evening on Monday as Hendon entertained a young Queens Park Rangers side. Firstly it's been a long and hard road to get back to a ground they can call their own for the North London side and this season they can celebrate at a new look stadium just over three miles from their old Claremont Road home they left in 2009. Those behind the scenes at both Hendon and Edgware Town have done an amazing job to bring football back to SJP.

A good crowd of 423 (the club ran a pay-what-you-want offer on the gate) saw a fantastic game of football with QPR taking the lead after only 30 seconds when Brandon Adams scored with a simple finish from just inside the box. The young forward would know Hendon very well having played on loan 13 times (3 goals) for Gary McCann's side last season. He was born and raised in Cheshunt and went to Goffs School. It was 0-2 on twenty minutes when Niko Hamalinen scored with a wonderful strike from outside of the box which gave Brandan Norris no chance in the Hendon goal. Hamalinen is a Finnish u18 International and spent some time on loan at Dagenham and Redbridge last season.

Ex Harrow Borough midfielder Spencer McCall then scored two goals - the second of which a looping shot from outside of the box - which levelled things up at half time.

The R's scored two quick goals on 46 minutes and 49 minutes through Reece Grego-Cox and Adams getting his second. A raft of substututions were made by Hendon including Zsomber Takacs, Omer Vassell, Khale Da-Costa and Andre Da-Costa. Vassell made in 3-4 on 64 minutes only for Dan Darbyshire to score after some great work by Adams who turned on the half way line and ran with the ball into the box to unselfishly lay it into the middle for a chance which Darbyshire couldn't miss.

Andre Da-Costa scored with a late free kick on the edge of the box to make it 4-5 and Hendon could of levelled it late on when they hit the post.

Queens Park Rangers look to have an excellent squad of young players with Adams standing out tonight along with attacking midfielder Gianni Crichlow who was able to run past defenders using pace & skill and also has an eye for a pass and a goal - He is definately a player with a great future in the game if he keeps working hard.
