The event will feature the first ever Hitchin Beer Mile and Milk Mile – a fun fundraising challenge involving running laps around Top Field and drinking beer or milk at the end of each lap. There will be different categories during the day – for adults, under 18s and under 13s (only the adults will be allowed in the Beer Mile) – and prizes for each category. Applications to take part are now invited and you can register via The Canaries website. Entry charges for the Beer Mile and Milk Mile are £16 for an adult and £6 for other categories. That includes the beer or milk.
The day also intends to bring together sporting organisations from across the town. The aims of the day being to promote the sporting community within Hitchin and raise money for improvements to Top Field.
