In the race for the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division title there is now a gap opening up between current table topper's London Colney along with second placed AFC Dunstable and the rest of the table. Third placed Berkhamsted and fifth placed Hoddesdon Town with games in hand are best placed at present to close the gap. The Lillywhites have won five in their last six leage games against AFC Dunstable, Hadley, Holmer Green, Berkhamsted and St Margaretsbury as well as a defeat to Wembley. At Lowfield they have a highly impressive record of seven wins and one draw in eight games played letting in just three goals along the way.
Hertford Town were unbeaten in their first eleven games but have since lost four in six so have dropped down to sixth place. London Colney have just one defeat in their nineteen games played which came very unexpectedly 0-2 at home to London Tigers on Tuesday 13th October.
Berkhamsted's squad has been recently bolstered by the arrival of Alex Campana from last season's champion's Kings Langley. The ex Watford player was one of the best performers in the league last season hitting the back of the net of a regular basis.
