WHAT A NIGHT - THE TOWN CONTINUE ON THE ROAD TO WEMBLEY

Enfield Town fans made up a large proportion of the 486 crowd at Top Field
The huge away following of Enfield Town supporters had a night to remember at Top Field last night as Bradley Quinton's side recorded a memorable 1-2 victory over Hitchin Town in their FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round replay. The first half saw The Canaries on top with Nathan McDonald continuing his heroics from Saturday's game to keep his team in the game. Just prior to the break Hitchin took the lead when Jonny McNamara robbed Ryan Doyle of the ball and crossed for Robbie Burns to score. The home side's fans were very quiet throughout the game and even when they scored there was barely any noise - This was in stark contrast to the Enfield Town fans and Enfield Town Ultras who throughout the two games backed their team with a constant barrage of songs, noise and support!

The second half saw the Town dig deep and put in an amazing performance to turn things around against a very strong home side. Claudio Vilcu rose to nod a McDonald kick into the box for Harry Ottaway to knock the ball past Charlie Horlock in the home goal to the delight of the away fans gathered under the stand. Ottaway was a legend with the fans at his former club Dulwich Hamlet and he is fast becoming that with Enfield. Town were dominant form therein and it was Vilvcu who scored the winner - he was set up by some sublime skill from Bobby Devyne in taking two defenders out of the game on the left hand side.

The scenes on the final whistle when Town supporters, team and management came together to celebrate their history making victory will live long in the memory - A fine example of how wonderful the Emirates FA Cup and non-league football is.
