NON-LEAGUE NUMBERS WEEK ONE

Welcome to a new feature on The Cold End - Hopefully I can keep it going as a regular one. Every Friday we'll look at some of the statistics and numbers around the non-league game. Here is your first instalment.

GRAYS ATHLETIC won twenty-three of a possible twenty-seven points on offer in their opening nine league games. Since then they have just picked up a solitary point from the fifteen they have had available to win. LEWES visit on Saturday who have only one win in their fourteen games played which came in a 4-0 victory at The Dripping Pan against HAMPTON AND RICHMOND BOROUGH on Wednesday 9th September.

Five teams have a chance to move top of the league above LEISTON on Saturday in the Ryman Premier Division. Anyone of DULWICH HAMLET, BOGNOR REGIS TOWN, CANVEY ISLAND, TONBRIDGE ANGELS and HAMPTON AND RICHMOND BOROUGH could leapfrog LEISTON to go into top spot with a win.

ROYSTON TOWN have won their last seven Evo Stik Southern League Division One (Central) league games in a row scoring twenty-four goals and letting in just six. Could they make it 8 in a row at home to Fleet Town on Saturday? Their opponents have a good record on their travels with three wins in four league games played.

Vanrama National League South side HAYES AND YEADING UNITED have only netted one goal in their last six games.....but they have only lost two of them. There form reads 0-0, 0-2, 0-4, 1-1, 0-0 and 0-0. They travel to CONCORD RANGERS tomorrow who drew 0-0 at EASTBOURNE BOROUGH in their last game. For another 0-0 to occur the bookmakers will give you 17/2? Or maybe under 2.5 goals might be a better bet at 10/11?

KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS are rooted to the bottom of the Vanarama National League with no wins in their seventeen league games played so far. They welcome SOUTHPORT to Aggborough tomorrow who are also in the relegation zone winning one in eight games away from home (which came in the last game on their travels at Woking 1-2). Could the arrival of the experienced ex Forest Green Rovers and Leeds United head coach Dave Hockaday as Head Coach make a difference? He has brought in a number of new signings to the club including 6' 4" striker Callum Hassan who scored in the midweek 2-2 draw away at Altrincham. Harriers are 11/10 with the bookmakers to get their first victory with SOUTHPORT at 12/5. For the game to end all square you can get 23/10.

BANBURY UNITED (8th position) and LARKHALL ATHELTIC (9th) are the only sides unbeaten away from home in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One (South & West). They are both on their travels tomorrow at WINCHESTER CITY (11th) and NORTH LEIGH (1st). Will they still be unbeaten at 5pm?
