RYMAN PREMIER DIVISION - WEEKEND PREVIEW

courtesy of footballwebpages.co.uk
It's another busy weekend for the Ryman Premier Division sides with two games to be played on Saturday and Bank Holiday Monday. The early leaders in the table are Leiston who have a tough home game at Victory Road against Hendon followed by a trip to Needham Market. Grays Athletic are only off the top spot by one goal and they make the trip to Dulwich Hamlet before entertaining Brentwood Town.

What is clear from the table after only 4 or 5 games played is that the step up from Division One's North and South is a tough one as promoted side's Needham Market, Brentwood Town, Merstham and Burgess Hill Town only winning four of the total of twenty games played between them.

After their well publicised financial problems Farnborough FC are now clear to play their first league game of the season which will be at home to Lewes on Saturday. The conditions set by the Ryman League is that if the club doesn't pay back the current total of over £1million to their creditors by the time of the league's 2016 AGM they will be relegated by one step. They then make the trip to Burgess Hill on Monday.

The only side left with a 100% winning record is Wingate and Finchley who host Staines Town and then travel to the Metropolitan Police on Monday.  The Swans have struggled to score so far with only three goals in their four games played but will be in good spirits following their 1-2 win at Dulwich Hamlet last Saturday. Wingate's Billy Healy has been in great scoring five goals in the four games played so far. A disappointing statistic for Enfield Town fans in that the ex Towner has scored 4 more goals than the one Town have scored so far!!

VCD Athletic, Lewes, Needham Market and Canvey Island are the four sides left without a win.

Top scorers are Tonbridge Angels who have hit the net 15 times in their five games played.

BETVICTOR.COM still make Dulwich Hamlet favourites for the title at 4/1 (in from 6/1) followed by Hendon and Staines Town on 6/1 and Grays Athletic at 10/1. Enfield Town are 33/1 out from 20/1 at the beginning of the season.
