It's been a great few weeks for Combined Counties League Division One side CB Hounslow United as it's been announced the club will be moving into a new ground with a target of summer 2016 for completion - a lease has been signed and funding released. The first hole at the Green Lane site was dug by chairman Frank James with the initial work on the area being a soil test to ensure the contractor knows the level and type of foundation required.
The Middlesex club were formed in 1989 and played in the Hounslow and District League (the CB in their names stands for "Cater Bank" which was a company owned by the father of the chairman of the club at the time) moving on to the Middlesex County League in 1994. They were promoted to the CCL Division One in 2006 where they have finished in 11th, 10th, 10th, 15th, 14th, 15th, 18th, 14th and 7th positions.
They have made a great start to the 2015/16 season with two wins in as many league games. Tomorrow they face Dorking Wanderers Reserves at The Orchard where they currently ground-share at the home of Bedfont and Feltham FC. Their new ground in Green Lane is only a stone's throw from The Orchard and closer to Hounslow town centre.
