Sean Brettell broke his leg in four places playing football last Saturday. Sean played for Welwyn Garden City FC for two seasons and was a much loved player by the supporters and his team mates during his time with the club.

He was spotted by Evo Stick side Bedford Town FC who invited him to join them in the forthcoming 2015-16 season. Sean played his first game in a pre-season friendly against his old club and sadly Sean was involved in a challenge and broke his leg. The game was abandoned.

This game shows the true spirit of non-league football - Because Sean is self-employed he can't work due to the injury so Welwyn are donating all the proceeds from the game tomorrow to help him financially over the the immediate future. A crowdfunnding site has also been set up which has raised an impressive amount of money so far - to donate please visit
