RYMAN PREMIER DIVISION LEAGUE NEWS

There has been lots of news and player movement in Enfield Town Ryman Premier Division since The Cold End last wrote about the league on Wednesday 27th May.

BILLERICAY TOWN have signed centre-back Joe Ellul who played for Enfield Town at the end of last season having signed from Division One (North) Barkingside along with full back/wide midfielder and former player Chris Bourne who was with AFC Hornchurch last season.

BRENTWOOD TOWN have made an impressive acquisition in appointing Dean Holdsworth as Director of Football. It is reported he will also act as manager of the club's first team alongside a yet to be appointed coach. The ex Wimbledon and Bolton Wanderers player brings with him managerial experience with Redbridge, Newport County (where he won the Conference South title), Aldershot Town and Chelmsford City. Holdsworth is also director of the Non League Footballer's Association so will have many contacts in the local area where I'm sure he will make some new signings for The Blues.

CANVEY ISLAND manager Danny Heale has already been busy and made a number of impressive signings. Experienced Glen Poole has joined after leaving Billericay Town alongside central defender's and former player's Richard Halle and Steve Sheehan. Both were also with Billericay Town last season.

DULWICH HAMLET have bid farewell to Terrell Forbes, Xavier Vidal and Luke Wanadio. Forbes who was captain at Champion Hill has joined National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town. Vidal is another in the long list of players to come through the ranks for the South London side and move up the football pyramid. He always impressed when playing against Enfield Town and attracted scouts from football league clubs. He has signed for National League side Welling United and in recognition to his loyal service Hamlet have waved any fee that would be due to make the move as smooth as possible for Vidal - they have retained a % sell on fee. STAINES TOWN manager Nicky Forster has pulled off a coup by signing Lively and pacey winger Luke Wannadio who made a number of impressive performances for the club last season. He has also played for Hampton and Richmond, Tooting and Mitcham United and East Thurrock United in the past.

ENFIELD TOWN manager Bradley Quinton has moved quickly to replace goal keeper Nathan McDonald who has returned to Braintree Town following his successful loan spell last season. 22 year old David Hughes joins from East Thurrock United where he made 85 appearances after coming through the youth ranks at Thurrock FC where he was voted player's player of the year in 2011/12. Everyone at the club wishes Nathan the best of luck back at Braintree and we look forward to seeing him making some of his trademark impressive saves in the National League. Welcome to The Towners David!

GRAYS ATHLETIC have confirmed Glen Little will be manager Mark Bentley's number two for the 2015/16 season. The former football league and Premier League player joined the club as a player from Wealdstone at the beginning of last season before following then manager Jody Brown to Welling United as Assistant Manager. Following Brown's departure from Welling he returned back to Grays for the end of the last campaign.

HAMPTON AND RICHMOND BOROUGH will play Salford City at The Beveree on Saturday 1st August. City are newly promoted to the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League The friendly came about due to discussions between club coach (and Sky Sports man) Martin Tyler and Gary Neville (who now owns City alongside a host of former Manchester United player's including Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Phill Neville and Ryan Giggs).

There is some great news form HENDON as their centre-back Charlie Goode has signed for League One side Scunthorpe United. The 19 year old made joined from AFC Hayes in November 2014 but made an instant impact with Gary McCann's side helping them to runner's up position and to lift the Ryman League Cup and London Senior Cup. I'm sure we'll see Goode breaking into the first team at Glandford Park before long. The club have also signed goal-keeper Joe Wright from Billericay Town as last season's regular Ben McNamara has departed.

KINGSTONIAN are another club to be busy in the play recruitment department. Their manager Tommy Williams has signed centre forward Ricky Sappleton (from Billericay Town), 29 year old attacking midfielder Ty Smith (ex of Metropolitan Police) and Peter Dean (another attacking midfielder who joins from Hendon having made 40 times for The Greens last season. He won the Premier Division title with Wealdstone in 2013/14). Sappleton will form an impressive striking partnership with already signed Richard Jolly.

TONBRIDGE ANGELS have signed winger Nick Wheeler from Lewes along with defender Sonny Miles who re-joins after winning the league title with Maidstone United last season. The Angels will play Fisher FC in the Supporters Direct Shield Final on Saturday 25th July at Longmeadow.

VCD ATHLETIC manager Keith McMahon has probably been the most busiest manager in signing players. They have made the impressive signing of Loick Pirest from National League side Welling United, Central Midfielder Max Fitzgerald from Cray Wanderers, Midfielder Giannoulis Fakinos, Midfielder Ritchie Graham and centre forward Leon Fisher (formerly of Wingate and Finchley, Ware and Cheshunt amongst others) and defender Ricardo Joseph (from Met Police).

WINGATE AND FINCHLEY have recruited two strikers who have been prolific in league's below the Ryman Premier. Lee Barney scored 25 goals for Evo-Stik Central Division side Marlow last season and has experience with in the Conference South with Maidenhead United and has played in Australia. Ex Towner Billy Healy has joined from Hanwell Town (also of the Evo-Stik Central) where he scored 55 times in 53 games in the 2013/14 season Spartan South Midlands League title winning season and 24 goals last season.
