"SUPER CAPTAIN KIRBY" LEAVES THE TOWN

It was a very cold February evening in 2013 at The Harry Abrahams Stadium when Mark Kirby ran back to his centre-back position with a broad smile and both hands cupped behind his ears as he was listening to the Wingate and Finchley supporters who had been absolutely slating the Town Captain all evening as a 'pie-eater' amongst other things - this was after scoring another important goal. That season Kirbs scored the winner in both games versus our rivals and this, for me, sums up what a fantastic player he was for Enfield Town. He always gave 100% setting an example for the whole team and was (and still will continue to be) a legend amongst the Town fans. Kirbs leaves to re-join Hendon whom he left to join the Town five years ago.

Super Captain Kirby - it goes without saying you will always be welcome back at Donkey Lane anytime. ENFIELD TOWN LEGEND!!

*The Cold End was supposed to be on a break but had to write something about Kirbs leaving Enfield Town Football Club.
