TOWN GAIN A VITAL THREE POINTS IN HOME WIN VERSUS BOGNOR

Enfield Town's 2-0 win against Bognor Regis Town yesterday afternoon moved them back in fifth spot with a chance of leap-frogging Dulwich Hamlet in fourth place should they win the game at Champion Hill on Bank Holiday Monday.

Corey Whitely got both goals in the second half - I think he could of easily been given the man of match award which Stanley Muguo won. You can find match highlights and a post match interview with manager Bradley Quinton  below from the excellent @ETFCTV - Get following if you're a twitter user!!!

The result of the day has to be Hendon's 2-1 home victory over Maidstone United. 759 people saw Gary McCann's side recover from going 0-1 down in the first 20 minutes with goals from Andre Da Costa and Sam Murphy. The fact is now that if Hendon win all six of their remaining games they will be Champions! Whose to say they won't as they have won their last six and are unbeaten in eleven league games. Their next two games come at Wingate and Finchley on Monday and a tricky trip to Margate on Thursday who are only three points below Hendon so could still finish top depending on Maidstone's results.

The best moment of the afternoon at Donkey Lane was in the second half when some of the Bognor Regis Town supporters joined the Enfield Ultras for sing song which was fantastic to see.

In the race to avoid the drop it was another afternoon to forget for AFC Hornchurch as they were well beaten 4-0 by Tonbridge Angels who along with Harrow Borough (who won again 0-1 at Lewes) edge closer to safety. There is now a gap of seven points between The Urchins and safety - they do have a game in hand over the teams above them.

Town's game on Monday is absolutely pivotal for both side's play-off chances. February and March have been tough months for the South-London side as when they impressively won at Donkey Lane in January they were considered title contenders but they have gone their worst run of form for a number of seasons gaining just 9 points from a possible 33 on offer. They have also failed to score in 7 of those 11 games. A crowd of well over 1,000 is expected at Champion Hill.

THE RACE FOR THE TITLE

Maidstone United's next two games come at home versus Peacehaven and Telscombe on Monday and play-off chasing Grays Athletic on Saturday. Hendon have the aforementioned games against Wingate and at Margate on Thursday which is game many Maidstone United fans will be very interested in. The Gate are also at home on Monday to Tonbridge Angels.

THE RACE FOR THE PLAY-OFF PLACES

With a seven point gap and just twelve points (15 for Billericay) to play for  between 5th and 12th time is running out for Bognor Regis Town, Leatherhead and Billericay Town. As well as Dulwich Hamlet v Enfield Town the Essex local derby between East Thurrock United and Grays Athletic is another highly imporant game.

MONDAY'S FIXTURES INVOLVING THESE TEAMS

AFC HORNCHURCH v BILLERICAY TOWN
BOGNOR REGIS TOWN v LEWES
DULWICH HAMLET v ENFIELD TOWN
EAST THURROCK UNITED v GRAYS ATHLETIC
HAMPTON AND RICHMOND v KINGSTONIAN
HARROW BOROUGH v MET POLICE
LEISTON v BURY TOWN
VCD ATHLETIC v LEATHERHEAD
WINGATE AND FINCHLEY v HENDON

THE BATTLE TO BEAT THE DROP

VCD Athletic's 2-3 win at already relegated Bury Town has given the Kent club hope but it's still going to be difficult for them. Their next three games come at home versus Leatherhead and Wingate & Finchley and then away to Margate which all look difficult games. Witham Town have away games at Canvey Island and Tonbridge Angels before a home game against Met Police. I would say to have a chance both sides need at least four (if not six) points from these games. The Urchins travel to Enfield Town on Saturday after their Bank Holiday Essex derby versus Billericay Town and then have a home game versus Peacehaven and Telscombe. AFC Hornchurch have lost five games in a row so it's looking more and more like Division One (North) football at Bridge Avenue next season - IT'S NOT ALL OVER JUST YET THOUGH!

For the fans of the The Urchins it seems a year is a very long time in football as they were only 90 minutes away from promotion back to the Conference South last season in the play-off final against Lowestoft Town.

In the game at Champion Hill the bookmakers rate a home win at 11/8 and an away win at 6/4 with a draw at 11/4. The highest odds of the day come at The Gallagher Stadium with Peacehaven and Telscombe rated at 7/1 to record a victory over Maidstone United who are odds on at 3/10.
