CLASSIC PROGRAMMES - BECKTON UNITED v BARKINGSIDE (1978)

Wednesday 27th September 1978 saw East London rival's Beckton United and Barkingside play out a London Spartan League fixture at Woodford Town's Snakes Lane ground. The small programme issued cost just 30p and had a write up on the club captain John West who 'would be the first to admit he is not the youngest member of the squad' and who has 'great pride in his personal performance as well as that of the teams'. There is also a match report of their game versus Waltham Abbey who are described as 'arch rivals'.
