LOTS OF WATERLOGGED SURFACES - BILLERICAY BACK TO WINNING WAYS

Enfield Town u21's Ryman u21 cup Quarter-Final game at Barkingside u21's was postponed as the pitch at Cricklefields was waterlogged due to the rain this evening along with Aveley's Division One (North) game versus Redbridge and Hendon's Ryman League Cup Quarter-Final versus Maidstone United which has been rearranged to be played on Wednesday evening.

There was one local game played at a rather damp New Lodge where Billericay Town got back to winning ways following their defeat on Saturday. They entertained Division One (South) side Whyteleafe in a Ryman League Cup Quarter-Final game and raced into a 4-0 lead within the first 26 minutes through goals from Rowan Liburd, Harry Baker (2) and Glen Poole. The away side came back well with Tommy Smith (2) and Jordan Bird making it 4-3 on 80 minutes. The home side held on for a semi-final place in a game which finished in a very very muddy and wet conditions. The other semi-finalists are Grays Athletic, Margate and the winners of the Hendon v Maidstone United game.

The rain has really put a dent in some team's fixture lists over the past few months. Southall, of the Spartan South Midlands League Division One, currently groundshare with Hanwell Town have only played twenty league games so far so will have to fit in an incredible twenty-two games between now and the end of the season on Saturday 25th April.
