Kings Langley are currently top of the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division and with games in hand over 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed teams must be considered current favourites for the title. Their three defeats so far have come against Sun Sports (at home 0-3 6/9/14), AFC Dunstable (at home 0-2 27/9/14) and Tring Athletic (also at home 1-3 20/12/14).
Sun Sports, last season's Division One champions, have lost three of their last six games which has put a dent to their title challenge. The defeats came against London Colney, Berkhamsted and Harefield United.
If Hertford Town (currently 5th) win their games in hand they will go to second place but there will still be a seven point gap to Kings Langley.Wembley (7th) will be on the same points total as Hertford as well if they win their games in hand.
There are no teams left without a defeat. Every team has lost at least one home game with only Kings Langley the only team undefeated on their travels.
London Tigers (19th) are the only side without a home win drawing four and losing three of their seven games at Avenue Park.
All of the top seven teams have applied for promotion to Step 4 of the non-league ladder. If they are lucky enough to finish top they will need to pass the correct ground grading.
KEY GAMES OVER THE NEXT MONTH
Saturday 3rd January
HERTFORD TOWN v BIGGLESWADE UNITED
Hertford won a close game (1-2) at Biggleswade on the 6th December. United have had two wins and a draw in their last three games including a 1-3 away win at Wembley. This could be a close game and a real test for Hertford Town's recent good form.
SUN SPORTS v BERKHAMSTED
2nd v 3rd. A draw here would do Kings Langley a real favour.
Saturday 10th January
AFC DUNSTABLE v KINGS LANGLEY
Kings Langley's record of no away defeats will be tested here
Wednesday 14th January
AFC DUNSTABLE v HERTFORD TOWN
AFC welcome Hertford Town to Creasey Park a few days after Kings Langley visit
Saturday 17th January
SUN SPORTS v KINGS LANGLEY
Sun Sports will need to win this one if they want to keep the pressure on their visitors in the race for the title. A victory for Kings Langley would see them move to a position where they are even more favourites for the top spot.
