The future of Hitchin Town's historic Top Field stadium is in doubt with plans afoot to develop the site into a supermarket. The beautiful game has been played at Top Field since 1871 when the original Hitchin FC drew with Crystal Palace in an FA Cup game with Hitchin Town calling it home since their formation in 1928.
