It's all very close in the race for the title in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division title as you can see from the above table. Berkhamsted lead the way with nine wins from their twelve league games played so far and a win percentage of 75%.Their defeats have come at home to Hoddesdon Town and away to Biggleswade United along with a draw at home to local rival's Kings Langley in front of a decent crowd of 119.
It's Kings Langley who look to be their closet rivals even though they are currently down in seventh place. If they win the two games in hand they have over Berkhamsted they will go to just two below the top of the table depending on other results in games played. If you look at the points gained per game ratio it's close between Berkhamsted (2.33 ppg) and Kings Langley (2) compared to Sun Sports on 1.92.
2013/14 Division One Champions Sun Sports have continued where they left off making a brilliant start to their first ever season at Step 5 on the non-league ladder.
Josh Chamberlain is the current leading scorer in the division hitting the back of the net ten times in eleven games. The midfielder came through the under 18s and reserve side at Broadwater and was just one goal off being top scorer last season. The 19 year old looks to have a big future in the game. He is followed by Joe Wright of Wembley (currently tenth place) on ten goals in ten games. Oxhey Jet's (ninth place) Lee Armitt is next on nine goals in just seven games. BJ Christie and AFC Dunstable's Jermaine Hall make up the current top four scorers in the division. Christie has scored eight times for Berkhamsted - He has also played for Barton Rovers, AFC Dunstable and Dunstable Town in the last few seasons.
