HADLEY & WELWYN PLAY AGAIN THIS WEDNESDAY

The Welwyn Garden City FC team line-up before the game
The magic of the FA Cup began over the weekend as many teams started on the long road to Wembley ready to win some much needed prize money in the early rounds of the competition. There was a Spartan South Midlands Division One v Premier Division game at Herns Lane as Welwyn Garden City hosted Hadley. For the Citizens it was a day of celebration as they were playing their first FA Cup game since 2010/11 - over the summer many volunteers at the club have worked tirelessly improving the pitch, the ground and clubhouse to good effect as the playing surface has never looked better in my opinion. A decent crowd of 123 people saw a game of few chances which didn't really live up to expectation. Hadley scored early with The Citizens having the best of the second half and deservedly equalising via Jason Caswell. The final score being 1-1. The replay takes place this Wednesday 20th August at Potters Bar Town where Hadley currently ground share.
