GLORY UP FOR GRABS - THE FA CUP CONTINUES THIS WEEKEND

The FA Cup continues this weekend with the Preliminary Round games taking place where Step 4 sides join dreaming of some glory in the world's greatest knockout competition. Here is the fixture list for Spartan South Midlands, Essex Senior League and Ryman Division One (North) sides -

There are two games where Step 6 sides entertain Step 4 sides as Codicote welcome Tilbury to The Gosling Stadium on Saturday and Baldock Town play Harlow Town on Sunday at Top Field. There is only one all SSMFL tie as Harefield United play Leverstock Green. This should be a close game as both teams have had good starts to their league campaigns.  

Romford certainly won't relish their game at St Margaretsbury who recorded a decent 6-2 victory in their re-arranged replay game on Tuesday evening - The original game had been abandoned due to floodlight failure. The Bury Boys have been in free scoring mood beating AFC Dunstable 1-6 away in the previous game in the league so will be in a confident mood against a Romford side who have lost all three of their away league games by 1-3, 1-2 and 1-2.

Enfield Town fans will have an eye on the game at Wodson Park where Ware welcome Thurlow Nunn League side Felixstowe and Walton United. Ware have only won one of the their opening six league games drawing three and losing two. F&W won 0-1 at Tower Hamlets in the last round and have won one and lost two of their league games.

Cray Wanderers are currently bottom of the division winning just one of their opening six games - they have lost the other five. They welcome Molesey of the Combined Counties League Premier Division who have had an amazing start to the season winning all six of their games played. In the last round they won 11-0 at home to Haywards Heath Town and have also recorded a 0-9 vicotry on the opening day of the season at Chertsey Town. Could there be a shock on the cards at Hayes Lane? Central Midfielder James McShane has been in great form for Molesey scoring seven goals already so he'll be one to watch here.

Thurlow Nunn league champion's Hadleigh United are in great form and are unbeaten in their six league and cup games. They will be a real test for Burnham Ramblers (2 wins from 5 league games and conceded 12 goals).

£1,925 is on offer from the FA prize fund for winner's of the games which will be well received by the clubs who are lucky enough to get through. It would take 31,012 of these payments to equal the £59.7 million transfer fee Manchester United have just paid for Angel Di Maria - Has football gone mad?
