THE RACE FOR THE RYMAN PREMIER TITLE

Just three points cover the top five of the Ryman Premier Division at present so it's all set up to be a really exciting competition as to which team can emulate Whitehawk's achievement last season by winning the title which comes with automatic promotion to the Conference South.

LOWESTOFT TOWN 18 9 4 5 33 15 +18 31 WWWLWW 50.00% 27.78%

The average win percentage for the last four champions (Whitehawk, Billericay Town, Sutton United and Dartford playing in 42 league game seasons) has been 61.90% which every team are currently near to or above aside from Lowestoft Town down in seventh place on 50%.

The most striking difference is in the loss percentages which over the past four years for the champions has averaged at 13.69% which will equate to an average of 6.30 games lost for this season. Therefore have Bognor Regis Town and Lowestoft lost too many games so far to considered as in the title race? Wealdstone, Maidstone United and Dulwich Hamlet with the two and three games in hand they have over Kingstonian and AFC Hornchurch could be considered favourites? The bookmakers agree as they make the two Stones 11/4 and 7/2 for the title followed by The K's at 4/1.

AFC HORNCHURCH 7/1
LOWESTOFT TOWN 10/1
BOGNOR REGIS TOWN 25/1

Looking at the record of teams in the top seven when they have played each other is interesting as both Wealdstone and Dulwich Hamlet have only played three games as opposed to AFC Hornchurch who have played seven times. Wealdstone's next fixtures come against Dulwich (away), Met Police (home), Kingstonian (away), Bognor Regis Town (away), Lowestoft Town (away) and Maidstone United (home). If they can get through these games with still only one defeat to their name they will be considered real favourites for the title when they visit Donkey Lane to face Enfield Town in the Big Boxing Day Local Derby.
