THE CHIPS ARE DOWN FOR THE MIGHTY K'S

There is some seating at Knebworth's pitch

British Summer Time usually means some early evening kick offs in the sunshine on pitches and grounds without floodlights but it was anything but that at the Knebworth Recreation Ground on Thursday evening. The recent good weather we've been enjoying suddendly disappeared to make way for rain, cold and gusty wind as Knebworth welcomed Chipperfield Corinthians for a Hertfordshire Senior County League Premier Division game. Unfortunately for the spectators who braved the conditions there is no shelter around the pitch and only a small overhang from the club-house/changing rooms that keeps you dry!

It's been a tough season for Knebworth who were promoted from Division One at the end of 2011/12 and they finish the season 2nd from bottom. Chipperfield have done a little better finishing 11th of 16 teams. They were much the better team here and could of been more than 0-1 up at half time but for a clearance off the line, a post and two disallowed goals for offside decisions.

The visitors ran in three more goals in the second half with The K's replying via the penaly spot given for soft push in the box. Chipperfield finished off a great week on Saturday winning 0-1 at Wormley Rovers and they also won 2-3 at Letchworth GC Eagles on Tuesday.

Match highlights are below
(I done my best in the wind and rain with all the goals and talking points included)
