ASLAN FC LIFT THE FAMOUS AUBERY CUP

Aslan FC, whom were only formed last summer, lifted the famous Hertfordshire Senior County League Aubery Cup this afternoon with a 5-3 victory over Premier Division title winner's Metropolitan Police Bushey. It's been a season to remember for Aslan and on this showing will be quite a force in the Premier Division in the 2013/14 campaign. They are currently top of Divison One with three games left to play on 69 points (possible points 78), Second placed Hatfield RBL can get to a total of 71 points if they win their final game with third placed Bedmond capable of getting 75 points with four games left currently on 63 points.

Aslan's front two of Kieran Bishop (ex Cockfosters and Redbridge) and Charlie Ledula (ex Bush Hill Rangers/Goffs Oak) caused the Police back four problems all game with their impressive pace and power. Ledula bagged a hat-trick in a game that Aslan were 0-4 up in at one point. Former Enfield Town player Deniz Mehmet was also in the Aslan side who are managed by ex Goffs Oak boss Kem Kemal.

To get to the final Aslan had beaten Premier Division side's Belstone and Whitwell along with Bushey Rangers and Hertford Heath which is another indication of how strong they will be next season.

For the Met Police team it was a disappointing afternoon but they can take heart in the fact they have won the Premier Division title for only the second time in their history this season. Aslan along with a number of other teams will sure to to run them close in 2013/14.
