THE FIRST DULWICH DERBY - Monday 6th May 2013

Bank Holiday Monday 6th May looks set to be a memorable afternoon for football in the London Borough of Southwark as the first genuine Dulwich derby takes place when Hamlet welcome Kent County League Division Two (West) side Dulwich Village for a friendly match staged to raise money for the local Southwak News Evelina Children's Hospital Appeal.

Admission will be £5 for adults, £1 for concessions and under12s can watch the match for free which kicks off at 3pm. A programme will also be produced to mark the occasion. The community feel of the day will also be marked with two youth games prior to kick off between Hamlet and Village with a penalty shoot out between the Hamlet Supporter's club and representatives of the Southwark News.

Dulwich Hamlet's website reports - "Gavin Rose has agreed to get into the spirit of things by allowing two Dulwich Hamlet fans, or just charitable local football supporters, to bid for a half game each in the famous PINK 'n' BLUE in the friendly encounter. The successful bidders will take a full part in the pre-match warm ups, have a spot in the official team photographs on the day, and play a full 45 minutes each in the match, with the highest bidder being honorary captain for the kick-off & playing the first period of the match, before being able to relax for the last 45 minutes, from the comfort of the dugout. Closed bids are open OFFICIALLY AS OF NOW, and the minimum bid must start at TEN POUNDS" Check out their website here for details.
