WARE 3 WALTHAM ABBEY 2
THURSDAY 28th FEBRUARY 2013
RYMAN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE (NORTH)
Ware gained an all important win against their local rivals at Wodson Park on Thursday night. The three points won will help Nicky Ironton's side in their battle to avoid the drop which now looks to be competed for by East London rival's Ilford and Redbridge.
Abbey were playing their 2nd game in two days after losing out 2-3 to AFC Hornchurch in the Essex Senior Cup Semi-Final at Capershotts on Tuesday night.
Ware striker Tony Martin will remember the game as he scored a very impressive goal from outside of the box for his side's second and then made the score 3-2 with a second goal. He was also involved in the build up to Ware's first goal scored by Jordan Gill just before half time.
Abbey had gone 0-1 up from the penalty spot via Tom Bruno and also made it 2-2 through James Peagram. The penalty given was just about a foul (from 1m 30secs) but if this was given surely Ware should of had one earlier in the game?? (from 0m 30secs)
Waltham Abbey's number 8 (I think was Tom Bruno ex of Harlow Town) was slightly lucky to escape with a booking late on when reacting to a tackle from behind from a Ware player. Both players were eventually booked. This incident is from 10m 41secs on the video
