Like Division One (North) the title race in the South division is between two teams being Maidstone United and Dulwich Hamlet. United have been boosted by the move back to their home town and the new Gallagher Stadium. Their league average attendance is currently 1,664 which is well above any club in the three Ryman League attracts and many clubs in the Blue Square South and North divisions at step 2 of the non-league pyramid.

Maidstone have drawn 8 of their 31 games (25.81%) opposed to Hamlet's 3 of 28 (10.71%) which is currently the difference between the two sides. Dulwich have to win their games in hand but can overtake the Kent club if they do so.

Tuesday 26th March is an important date in the race for the title as Maidstone United travel to Champion Hill for what may turn out to be a real title deciding match. It's sure to attract a really decent crowd to South London as many Maidstone fans will make the journey to support their team along with the Hamlet fan's who boast the second highest average in the league at 393.

Hamlet have one defeat in their last six league games which was an unexpected 2-0 loss at tenth placed Eastbourne Town. Maidstone's last defeat came on the 2nd February when Leatherhead won 2-3 at The Gallagher Stadium in front of 1,801 people.

The other game between the two title contenders was back on Saturday 13th October when Maidstone won 5-0!

Dulwich have two really tough looking home fixtures against 5th placed Sittingbourne and then 6th placed Crawley Down Gatwick. They then go to to Hythe Town (7th). Madistone face a kent derby v Folkestone and then host Tooting (14th) before travelling to Chipstead (15th).

Hamlet's trip to Hythe Town could be crucial as they are currently third in the form table below both the title chasing clubs. Hythe have won four of their last six games.
