SATURDAY ROUND-UP

It was a complete white-out across the Ryman League's three divisions as the snow and ice ruined any chance of football this afternoon. Dulwich Hamlet made a big effort to keep their massive top of the table clash with Maidstone United on at Champion Hill as around twenty five volunteers cleared snow from the pitch in the morning. Unfortunately for both sides the match referee made the decision to call the game off after inspecting the pitch at around 1.45pm. Only one other game across step's 3 and 4 survived the conditions with Bideford drawing with AFC Totton in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division.

All the other local leagues were fixtures were all postponed aside from Ryan FC Reserves game against Toby Reserves in the Essex Olympian League Reserve Division Three. The 3G pitch at Wadham Lodge was playable with the away side recording a 1-2 victory.

The above picture shows the Football Akademy 3G pitch at Broadhall Way in Stevenage where Barmond United were scheduled to play Tansley in the North and Mid Herts Football League Benevolent Shield. As you can see the snowy conditions caused this game to be postponed as well.

Enfield Town were in action in a behind closed doors friendly with Ryman Division One (North) side Potters Bar Town at The David Beckham Academy. The Scholars were 2-0 up but a late come back by The Town saw the game end 2-2.
