COMBINED COUNTIES PREMIER DIVISION - RACE FOR THE TITLE

Combined Counties Premier Division

9.SOUTH PARK 1510233615+2132

The race for the Combined Counties Premier Division title is between the above four teams in TheColdEnd's opinion. The teams between The Green Lions and South Park have all played five more games or in Windsor's place seven more games than the teams in 3rd and 9th place. Looking at the games in hand Guernesey have in hand over the top two (potentially 12 or 18 points) they have to be rated as favourites although I'm sure Badshot Lea, Egham Town and South Park will have something to say about the situation

Guernsey's only league defeat (1-0) came on Tuesday 7th August away at Camberley Town and since then they have only dropped points at Horley Town and at home to Badshot Lea on the 10th November. Since that top of table clash Guernsey have only played one league game at home to Windsor on the 1st December. They are still involved in the FA Vase and face Rye United at home in January so if their run to Wembley continues they are sure to have a hectic time over the next few months. Ten league games are scheduled for March and eight in April.

Clearly if the current Division One Champions continue the form they have shown over the past season and a half they will be crowned champions in April and seal back to back promotions. The question is with a schedule of ten games in March and eight in April along with potential Cup games will they be able to keep up the amazing run they have been on.

Down at the bottom of the table Hartley Witney have only seven points and are nine points adrift of Sandhurst Town and Dorking.

A key gamethat could attract a decent crowd takes place next Saturday 12th January when Egham Town welcome Guernsey to The Runnymede Stadium.
