STOTFOLD EDGE OUT UNITED IN LOCAL DERBY

MATCH PLAYED ON TUESDAY 2nd OCTOBER 2012

Biggleswade United welcomed their local rival's Stotfold to Second Meadow on Tuesday night for a Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division Cup game. Both sides have been struggling for any sort of form this season with both sides struggling towards the bottom of the Premier Division.

United went into this game a record of only two wins in fourteen games where they scored only 13 goals and last midweek (Tuesday 25th September) they had crashed out of the League Challenge Cup at home to Division One Sun Postal Sports (0-4). Stotfold hadn't done much better with the same record of two wins in fourteen league and cup games.

Both teams struggled to create many proper goal-scoring opportunities during the game with the away side just about shading it in the second period with a goal at the beginning and end of the half. Sean Herr go the first and Robert Groves scored the second.

United have a very tough trip to second placed Aylesbury United on Saturday with Stotfold making the short trip down the A1 to play Hatfield Town.
