Champions Baldock Town who applied for promotion to the Spartan South Midlands League start their campaign at promoted Knebworth. Town, who were denied promotion due to ground grading issues at Norton Road aka The North Herts Arena, have set up a ground sharing agreement at Hitchin Town's Top Field stadium for the 2012/13 season.
There are four new teams in Division One. Aslan, Hatfield Royal British Legion, Hatfield Town Blues and Harvesters all join the league. Bushey Rangers also re-join after resigning from the league at the end of the 2011/12 season. London Colney Blues have left the league.
Their are now a trio of teams competing in Division One representing Hatfield. AFC Hatfield were called AFC Hatfield Town up until the end of last season, they were formed in 2008 after Hatfield Town were promoted to the Spartan South Midlands League. Hatfield RBL are a new team joining the league this season with Hatfield Town Blues newly formed for the 2012/13 season. They are apparently mainly made up of Hatfield Town's former under 18's side.
Harvesters FC are a big youth team football club from St Albans and have formed a senior men's team for 2012/13.
Aslan FC are the other new side and will play their home games at Pymmes Park in Edmonton. Many of their players played for the successful Reserve Division Two champion's Goffs Oak Reserves last season.
Goffs Oak have merged with Bush Hill Rangers youth football club and for the 2012/13 season will play under the name Bush Hill Rangers. They will still ground share at Goldsdown Road.
Stand out fixtures for the opening few weeks for TheColdEnd are an early Hatfield derby on Tuesday 21st August when Hatfield Town Blues entertain AFC Hatfield, an Enfield local derby on Wednesday 22nd August when Hinton face Bush Hill Rangers and last season's Division One champions Whitwell taking on Premier Division champions Baldock Town on Tuesday 28th August.
Bush Hill are the only side representing the league in the FA Vase facing a tough trip to Spartan South Midlands League Cranfield United.
