What a result for Enfield Town on Saturday afternoon at Needham Market. Steve Newing showed was a great manager he is, when shuffling the team around after two defeats, the Town got a well deserved 0-1 victory with the goal coming from the experienced head of Bryan Hammatt on 53 mins.

The win guarantees play-off football for Enfield Town and the news that Leiston lost 3-1 at Tilbury confirmed it was the best Saturday for Steve and his team all season.

There are still lots of permutations and outcomes regarding the title. All the cold end will say is that the defeat at Chadfields was Leiston's first in the league since Wednesday 26th October so they don't become a bad team overnight and they are still in the driving seat with the five point gap!!! All the supporters, players and everyone associated with Enfield Town can do is concentrate on getting a victory against Waltham Abbey tomorrow afternoon and then who knows?

Town mustn't under-estimate our local rival's as they gave the league leaders a really good game back on the 17th March in a battling 2-1 defeat in Suffolk. They are also the league's fourth top scoring side hitting the net a total of 76 times....Only Needham Market (98), Leiston (89) and Enfield Town (86) are ahead of them. The last time we met was the 2-2 draw at Capershotts on Boxing Day when we were all full of Turkey Dinners so tomorrow will be the same but with chocolate from Easter Sunday. Highlights of the Christmas game are below -
