FREEZING CONDITIONS IN COLD END COUNTRY

Will it take a stud???   Frozen Pitches across the local area
The sharp frost overnight and freezing conditions continuing into the weekend are bound to put a dent in the football fixture list across the country let alone Essex, Hertfordshire and London where it's probably quite warm compared to those further North.

The temperature in Enfield tomorrow is predicted to go as high as 2c and as low as -2c. The Sun will be out though so hopefully this may burn away the frost and Enfield Town's game versus Chatham Town will go ahead.

Wherever you're going to see football or whatever your doing the cold end recommends you wrap up warm...it's all about layers in this weather. Three pairs of socks at football always works for me.

There was a game at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium last night where Enfield Town U18s beat visiting Ashford Town (Middx) U18s 4-0 with all the goals coming in the second half. The match was the semi-final of The Jeff Ritson Cup so the U18s now qualify for the final where they face Harefield United U18s. This is superb news for the club so well done and congratulations to all those involved.

If the game against Chatham Town does get the green light they come to the Donkey Dome with a record of 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats in their last six league games scoring 9 and letting in 11. On the road they have lost at Romford (2-1), Brentwood Town (3-0), Harlow Town (3-0) and Thamesmead Town (2-0) in their last four away trips. Their last away victory came in the 0-1 at Needham Marker on 10th December so they are capable of playing well and springing a surprise on the Town.
Chatham Town - Due to visit the QE STAD tomorrow afternoon
