The hallowed turf at The Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Donkey Lane is now officially ready to be graced by Enfield Town Football Club. Tomorrow afternoon's game against Ware at Theobalds Lane will be the last played in the ground share agreement with Cheshunt. The Cold End would like to thank our friends over the border in Hertfordshire for their help in letting the Town play their games there since the start of the season.
The first game at the DonkeyDome will be next Wednesday 9th November evening in the Middlesex Senior Cup against Harefield United followed by the League Cup game against AFC Sudbury on Monday 14th November. The first Ryman League game to be played at Town's new stadium will be on Saturday 26th November against Soham Town Rangers.
The ground will officially be opened against a Tottenham Hotspur XI managed by Les Ferdinand and Tim Sherwood on Wednesday 16th November with a slightly earlier kick off time of 7.30pm. Tickets for this game are £10 for adults and £5 for concessions. All details can be found on the official Enfield Town FC website here.
It's been a very long time since the old Enfield FC's Southbury Road was so sadly demolished in 1999 so the game against Tottenham Hotspur should be a great night of celebration as to what the new club have achieved since formation in 2001.
The Cold End thanks all the people involved who have worked so hard to get Donkey Lane and the QE STAD up and running!!
