The battle for the play offs and title race in the Ryman Division One (North) is really hotting up with just seven points separating the top five. Tilbury, Potters Bar Town, Harlow Town, Thamesmead Town and Romford make up the current top ten and will be pushing hard looking for the top five to slip up. There is still much football to be played!!

The match of the season so far takes place next Saturday when the top two face off with Grays Athletic travelling to fortress Bloomfields to play Needham Market. Prior to this most important game, Grays travel to Harlow Town for an Essex derby on Tuesday night - depending on the result of this game Hakan Hayrettin's side may go to Suffolk as league leaders.

Needham Market's form of late has been nothing short of spectacular. Since Soham Town Ranger's unexpected away victory (2-3) on Tuesday 4th October they have won seven league games in a row with their last three games being won 4-0.

Needham's current tally of 53 goals scored is a massive 17 clear of second top scorers (fourteenth placed Waltham Abbey). In their sixteen league games played The Marketmen have already eclisped the total amount of goals scored in forty league games by Waltham Forest (42), Ilford (42) , Tilbury (41), Cheshunt (49), Thamesmead Town (42) and Redbridge (51) last season.
