COCKFOSTERS OR DAVENTRY TOWN??
For Enfield Town supporters there is a choice of games on offer tomorrow with the first team travelling to Northamptonshire to play Zamaretto Division One (Central) side Daventry Town and a reserve/youth XI making the shorter trip to Chalk Lane to play Spartan South Midlands Division One side Cockfosters.
Former Republic of Ireland international, Charlton Athletic, Colchester United, West Bromwich Albion, Aston Villa and Walsall player Mark Kinsella has taken over as Manager of Daventry Town this summer. They just missed out on a second succesive promotion last season after losing to Hitchin Town in the play-off final so will be a tough test for Steve Newing's side. They have had a mixed bag of results so far this pre-season beating Banbury United (0-2) and Hoddesdon Town (14 (yes FOURTEEN)-0), drawing with Ardley (1-1) and in their latest match losing to S&L Corby (1-5) on Tuesday night. The Hoddesdon result can be explained by stating Hoddy had a mixture of under 18's and reserves fielded.
Cockfosters have played two pre-season games to date narrowly losing to Wingate and Finchley (1-2) and Haringey and beating Boreham Wood Reserves (5-1) where Anton Lewis scored a hat-trick.
If you are planning on travelling to Chalk Lane the cold end advice is to leave a little bit of time to find a parking space as the car-park is very small. With the tube station close-by all the surrounding roads are controlled parking but if you drive a short distance (about 5 min walk to ground) you'll be able to find some free parking I beleive to save you the pennies and pounds from parking in the tube station car park.
