GRAYS ATHLETIC TONIGHT - MIDWEEK ROUND UP

Enfield Town make the trip to Rookery Hill to play Grays Athletic this evening. Julian Dick's side have been in good form of late with a defeat to Landlords and table topper's East Thurrock United in their last five games. They gained an impressive 1-1 draw at Needham Market on Saturday so will be in a confident mood tonight. They have played 12 league games at home so far this season winning four, drawing four and loosing four scoring 21 and letting in 15 goals.

They are currently placed in thirteenth position on 37 points but do have three games in hand over Town in seventh place on 46 points so should they win tonight and win their three games in hand they will have a real chance of joining the clutch of teams aiming for a play-off spot. The importance of the game tonight is shown that if Town win they leapfrog AFC Sudbury and Maldon & Tiptree into fifth place on goal-difference just three points behind Wingate & Finchley who haven't won in four games.

Last night's Ryman Division One (North) results

AFC Sudbury 3 0 Redbridge 196
East Thurrock United 3 2 Tilbury 127
Heybridge Swifts 0 3 Brentwood Town 103
Romford 2 4 Harlow Town 79
Waltham Abbey 3 0 Ware 49
Last night's results saw Brentwood Town continue their great from with an impressive 0-3 victory at Scraley Road. Sos Yao, Darren Blewitt and former Towner Ryan Edgar got the goals for Brentwood.

AFC Sudbury and Harlow Town kept the pressure up with wins at home to Redbridge and the Hawks impressively winning away at Romford by a scoreline of 2-4. Leon Antoine and Bertie Brayley both scored a brace for Harlow Town who are now unbeaten in five games. Romford who looked set for a play-off spot have dropped down the league with no wins in their last six games (of which four have been defeats). Harlow Town were 0-4 in the game after 65 minutes.

East Thurrock United stay top of the league with a narrow 3-2 victory at home to Tilbury. The Rocks had opened the scoring on 4 minutes through Hakeem Araba but thanks to two goals the in-form Dockers looked like they were going to get something out of the game but  Max Cornhill levelled affairs on 62 minutes and a very late goal form Araba secured the all important three points for the home side.

Elsewhere, we now know who will contest the Championship Manager Cup final (aka Ryman League Cup) as Dulwich Hamlet won 1-5 at Leatherhead and Wingate & Finchley beat Maldon & Tiptree 2-1 in the Semi-Finals. A disappointing crowd at the Harry Abrahams's Stadium as just 35 people were present in the battle of the Ryman North sides with 128 at Leatherhead's Fethcham Grove.
