Potters Bar Town won 2-3 at Goldsdown Road last night in what I beleive was a close game which could of gone either way. The Scholars victory puts them level on points with Needham Market, Harlow Town and Wingate & Finchley at the top of the league on 24 points with only goal difference seperating the four sides. Enfield Town are now down in 10th place but it's nowhere near panic stations as yet as we are only 3 points off the top of the table on 21 points.
Last night saw a new face in the Town ranks in forward Leon Osei who has joined from Zamaretto Central League side Northwood. Leon had started eight times with 3 substitute appearences for the ex Ryman side this season scoring twice, In all he played 38 times and scored six goals. Osei played for Wood against Town last season at Goldsdown Road and nearly scored with a header which was saved by Rob Blackburne. Leon started his career as as youth team player with Queens Park Rangers before playing for Stevenage Borough, Leyton, Wingate and Finchley, Dorchester Town, Newport County and Winchester City.
In the FA Trophy Thamesmead Town lost at home to Folkestone Invicta 1-3 to end their road to Wembley. Only Harlow Town, Romford, Grays Athletic and AFC Sudbury are left to represent the Ryman Division One (North) in the competition which moves into the 3rd Qualifying Round on 20th November.
The Hawks face more Ryman Premier Division opponents when Maidstone United visit Barrows Farm, Romford travel to Boreham Wood with Grays Athletic also on the road with a trip to Cirencester Town but it's AFC Sudbury who have the draw of the round with a mammouth journey down to Cornwall to face Zamaretto Premier high flyer's Truro City. AFC's face a round trip of around 680 miles in the fixture which pits the FA Vase winners 2007 against the Vase runners up of 2003, 2004 and 2005.
The cold end sends more apologies for the lack of match action but my camera is still out of action. Hopefully i'll have some pictures and footage for you soon!
