Redbridge - 17th place
The problems with the pitch at the Motormen's Oakside stadium is undoubtedly the talking point of the season for their fans. Nearly three months passed between the home games of the 0-5 defeat versus Lowestoft Town on the 15th December and the 0-1 defeat versus Potters Bar on the 2nd March.
Finished the season well with only 2 defeats in 12 games which were against Lowestoft Town and Great Wakering Rovers. Dave Ross who took over from Jay Deveraux in late September will have a chance to show what his East London side can do in the 10/11 season. Ross will need to recruit a goalscorer as their top scorer came up with only 13 goals with the next best at 4 and then a clutch of players on two goals. Bound to improve on 17th place.
Best result - Beating both Concord Rangers and East Thurrock United at home this season.
Worst result - Losing 0-3 at home to bottom side Harlow Town or losing at Ilford in October.
Best player - Ex Enfield FC defender Simon Peddie had a good season playing at centre back.
Ware - 18th place
Tony Faulkner took over the hot seat at Wodson Park after Paul Halsey left the club following the 1-1 draw with Thamesmead Town on the 21st November. Ware had only won 2 of their opening 18 games and were staring firmly at a relegation battle. A host of players followed Faulkner up the A10 from Spartan South Midlands side Broxbourne Borough and results began to improve enough to pull away from the relegation zone. With Faulkner now firmly in the Manager's seat at Wodson Park with a full pre-season preparation the cold end forecasts Ware will be up in top half of the league next season.
Best result - Winning 2-3 at Champions Lowestoft Town in February was a fantastic result.
Worst result - After Ware had lost a 3-0 lead to Town in the remarkable game on the 9th February most people thought they would beat Waltham Forest at home in the the next game. They didn't ending up losing the game 1-3.
Best player - Ryan Wade stepped up from his goalscoring exploits in the Spartan South Midlands League and scored 15 goals in 22 league games. He is bound to hit the back of the net many times next season. Centre backs Danny Swift and Matthew Turpin impressed the cold end in the first half of the 3-3 game in February. Turpin scored 9 league goals which is an impressive total for a defender.
Ilford - 19th place
The Foxes were rightly top of the table after three games with victories over Heybridge Swifts and impressively away from home at Enfield Town and Lowestoft Town. Pundits are always heard stating that league titles are won in April and May and not August, this can be applied to the East London side because after impressing us all with their opening hat-trick of wins they went on to win a few and lose a few with a terrible run of 2 wins in 20 games from the end of November to the beginning of April slid slowly down the table towards the dreaded relegation zone. Manager Chris Wood left the club after the 0-3 home defeat to VCD Athletic on the 12th October 2009 and was replaced by his assistant Colin Walton and coach Michael Thompson. A 9 point deduction from the Ryman League for fielding an ineligible player in John Hughes earlier in the season didn't help their fight to beat the drop but thankfully for their loyal group of fans Walton was able to steer his side to finishing on 34 points which was only 4 above Leyton in the drop-zone. NON LEAGUE 24 ARTICLE relating to points deduction.
Best result - 0-1 win at Lowestfot Town in front of 709 people sent the Foxes top of the table on August 22nd.
Worst result -Foxes tenants Waltham Forest won their local derby 'home' game 3-0 at Cricklefields on the 20th February.
Best player - Goalkeeper Rob Budd performed heroics in a man of the match performance in the 0-1 win at Goldsdown Road in the second game of the season.
COMING SOON - THE FINAL PART FIVE TO THE COLD END'S REVIEW OF THE SEASON.
