WEATHER CONDITIONS BOUND TO DISRUPT MIDWEEK GAMES

1pm PITCH INSPECTION FOR TRAVELLING TRAWLER BOYS

Any Lowestoft Town fan that makes the trip to their Championship Manager Quarter Final tie at Ryman South Croydon Athletic tonight deserves a pat on the back. It's a 250+ round trip down from Suffolk and around the M25 which won't be the best of journey's as it's currently snowing in some parts of Suffolk, Essex and Ryman Country. There is a 1pm pitch inspection at Mayfield Road due to see if the surface in playable. Athletic are 2nd in the south division so it's a good game in prospect. They have won 10 of their 14 home league games with the defeats coming against Chatham Town (3-4), Walton & Hersham (2-4) and Whyteleafe (0-2).
They have beaten Corinthian Casuals (2-0 at home), Premier Division high flyers Hastings United (0-1 away) and Walton & Hersham (0-1 away) to get to this stage.
Lowie have beaten Ilford (3-1 at home), Maldon Town (0-3 away) and Tilbury (2-1 at home) in order to play this this quarter-final game.

The other quarter-finals are

Aveley V Canvey Island (to be played on 1st March),
Fleet Town V Leatherhead (scheduled for this Thursday)
Wealdstone V the winners of Billericay Town V Sittingbourne (which is due to be played on Thursday).

Other Midweek Ryman North fixtures

Monday
Northwood V Redbridge
Tuesday
East Thurrock United V Concord Rangers
Enfield Town V Brentwood
Harlow Town V Heybridge Swifts
Maldon Town V Great Wakering Rovers
Potters Bar Town V Ilford
VCD Athletic V Leyton
Ware V Cheshunt
Wednesday
Waltham Forest V Redbridge

bwin.com rate Enfield Town at 1/2 favourites with a draw at 14/5 and a Brentwood Town away win at 4/1. I think it'll be much closer than these odds suggest as The Blues have won their last three games versus East Thurrock United, Potters Bar Town and Harlow Town.

The game of Tuesday night takes place at Rookery Hill when The Rocks currently in sixth place take on now firmly in 2nd place Concord Rangers. A home win is rated at 6/5, the draw at 5/2 and an away win at 31/20. If East Thurrock United lose and Town win they'll be a five point gap between us with Town having a game in hand to make it a possible 8 points. A very interesting game for all the play-off chasing teams which I think will be a closely matched affair. Two local derby matches also take place when Ware take on Cheshunt and Waltham Forest entertain Redbridge.

Light snow is currently falling in some parts of the Ryman North country with some heavy rain forecast to fall later on today and tomorrow so the weather may take it's toll on some of the games due to be played.
