Enfield Town V Eastbourne Town - Match Preview
For the second successive match Town play a team from the Ryman Divsion One South looking to get one step closer to Wembley on Saturday, this time in the FA Trophy against Eastbourne Town who make the trip to Goldsdown Road from the Sussex Coast. Ady Colwell's team have made a poor start to the season winning only their first league game last week at Whyteleafe 1-0 when down to 10 men for a good portion of the game.
They have been in the Ryman South since winning the Sussex County league on the last day of the 06/07 season and have finished 19th and 13th so far in the league.
In the F.A Trophy they have never won a game loosing 3-0 to Hitchin Town at Top Field in 07/08 and last season being dumped out by the same scoreline at Crowborough Athletic. They do have some cup pedigree as in the 06/07 season when last playing in the Vase they got through to the fourth round before being beaten again by 3-0 at home to Curzon Ashton. In the FA Cup they have reached the 2QR on a few occasions but never got past that round.
Eastbourne Town will be buoyed by their 1-0 win at Church Road last week so will be no push-overs and Enfield Town will need to be at their best to win the game. The cold end wants more than 3 attempts on target this week and supporters will be looking for a good performance and a win to set up an away tie at Woodson Park versus Ware.
