Sir Bobby Robson - A True Legend

It was very sad news today to hear Sir Bobby Robson had passed away at the age of 76, He had fought a long battle against Cancer.

A true gentleman and legend, Sir Bobby was an ambassador for football and will be greatly missed. The first world cup I truly remember is Italia '90 and I will never forget Sir Bobby on the sidelines watching Gazza, Lineker, Waddle and Co so nearly make it to the final. The greatest achievement for an England side since 1966.

In 1985 when getting the England job he said 'I think I have the best job in the country'....

One of the best quotes involving Sir Bobby will be the exchange between a journalist and Shola Ameobi, enquiring if the forward has a nickname..

Q - "What do the lads call you?"
A - "Shola"
Q - "What does Bobby Robson call you?"
A - "Bobby calls me Carl Court"
