SPOTLIGHT ON EAST THURROCK COMMUNTY FOOTBALL CLUB

It was great to see East Thurrock Community Football Club forming shortly after the sad demise of East Thurrock United in September 2023. The new club was accepted into the Essex & Suffolk Border League Premier Division for the 24/25 season. ETCFC is 100% fan owned with community at the core of it's founding principles.

They play home games at The Wyldecrest Sports Country Club which is just a stone's throw from the old club's spiritual home at Rookery Hill.

So far they have played thirteen league games with three wins, one draw and nine defeats. The wins coming against Barnston (1-0), Tiptree Heath (1-5) and White Notley (0-2).

This Saturday they travel to Essex Olympian Division Division One side Harold Hill in the Essex FA Premier Cup before a trip to title challenger's Kings Park Rangers on Saturday 16th November.

The game against Harold Hill will be a decade to the day that the old club played at then League Two Hartlepool United in the FA Cup First Round. The Pools won 2-0 on that day after The Rooks had beaten AFC Hornchurch, Metropolitan Police, Tooting and Mitcham United and Bath City to get to that stage.

It'll be a difficult game as Harold Hill are second in their division and have won their last three games in a row scoring twelve goals and letting in three.
