DESBOROUGH TOWN and MOULTON have made a 100% winning start to their seasons with 'Ar Tarn' scoring a very impressive twenty-five goals in their five games.
AFC WELWYN, Division Two champions last season, have made a very impressive start to their debut step 6 campaign with four wins from five games. They are closely followed by AMPTHILL TOWN who are also on four wins from five with only two goals conceded.
The Romans have a current average crowd of 100.66 for their three home league games played which people not in the know may think that's not a huge figure but for a club which was only formed in the Summer of 2023 that has to compete against many other local non-league clubs it's pretty decent in my opinion especially if you compare it to Ampthill Town's current average of 90.66 - The Amps are one of the better supported teams at Step Six in the local area.
It's very early days to even look at the league table but I'm sure everyone involved with the current top four will be extremely happy with their unbeaten start to the season.
At the bottom of the table LONDON COLNEY are the only team left without a win. They finished second bottom of The Combined Counties League Division One last season with seven wins from forty-two games played. They have conceded twenty goals in their five games with their only point coming in a 3-3 draw at Stotfold Reserves. I'm sure they'll get a win on the board soon but their next game is a tough trip to Ampthill Town!
The game of the day tomorrow evening comes at Waterworks Field as free scoring Desborough Town host 5th placed Irchester United. AFC Welwyn's trip to 7th placed Leighton Town Reserves also looks a good fixture with both teams in good form.
