BRAINTREE TOWN, BARNET, DAGENHAM & REDBRDIGE & MAIDENHEAD UNITED IN THE BOTTOM FOUR OF THE VANARAMA NATIONAL AFTER FIVE GAMES PLAYED

The bottom four of the Vanarama National League are the only sides yet to register a victory - although only five games have been played so far is it going to be a long tough season for them? It's extremely early days yet but I'm sure their fans will be wanting to get some more points on the board in the next few games played. Bank Holiday Monday will be a massive day for all four clubs with Braintree Town v Maidenhead United and Barnet v Dagenham & Redbridge taking place!

BRAINTREE TOWN
L 0-2, D 1-1, L 0-1, D 1-1 and L 3-4.

It was always going to be a tough start for Bradley Quinton's team who were promoted via the Vanarama South division play-offs last season. Yesterday's game showed luck really isn't going their way when they were 3-2 up against Havant & Waterlooville but two extremely late goals from Nicke Kabamba in the 94th and 96th minutes sealed a dramatic win for The Hawks - a crowd of just 407 (the lowest in the league this season) saw this game - i'm sure those involved with the running of the club will want to see that improved in the next few home games.

They have a long trip to Barrow at the weekend who are currently in 11th place before a massive game at home to Maidenhead United who are managed by former manager Alan Devonshire.

Next two games
Saturday 25th August - Barrow
Monday 27th August - MAIDENHEAD UNITED

BARNET
D 0-0, D 1-1, L 1-2, L 0-2 and L 0-3.

A indifferent start to the season under new boss John Still after Martin Allen left the club after one of his many spells in charge of the club following relegation last season. The fact only two goals have been scored through Shaq Coulthirst and Charlee Adams will be of concern to their fans - They lost at home to Ebbsfleet United yesterday with former Dagenham and Enfield Town winger Corey Whiteley (a player Still knows well) on the score sheet. Two huge games for The Bees coming up with an away trip to Chesterfield and a reunion with Martin Allen before The Daggers visit The Hive on Bank Holiday Monday.

Next two games
Saturday 25th August - Chesterfield
Monday 27th August - DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE

DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE
L 0-1, L 1-2, D 2-2, L 1-2 and L 1-2.

Peter Taylor and Terry Harris had to recruit a number of new players over the summer following the reported financial problems at the club and also rely on younger players so it's fair to say all of their loyal fans would of known it wasn't going to be top half finish this season. Yesterday's team in their 2-1 defeat at currently second placed FC Halifax Town was a narrow one as has been all their defeats so far - the average age of their starting XI yesterday was just over 23  - I think they may need a few older heads if they are going to avoid getting involved in a relegation fight. They entertain Hartlepool United (14th) on Saturday before that aforementioned huge game against Barnet.

Saturday 25th August - HARTLEPOOL UNITED
Monday 27th August - Barnet

MAIDENHEAD UNITED
L 1-3, L 0-1, D 2-2, L 0-2 and L 1-2.
The Magpies (like The Daggers) only have one point on the board so far which ironically came in the 2-2 draw between the two sides on Saturday 11th August. Alan Devonshire's side entertain Maidstone United (13th) in the live BT Sport game on Saturday before their trip to Braintree Town next Monday.

Next two games
Saturday 25th August - MAIDSTONE UNITED
Monday 27th August - Braintree Town

Back in June Barnet were 12/1 with the bookmakers to win the division but they are now rated at 25/1+. Dagenham & Redbridge were 16/1 but they have increased to 100/1+.
