Scunthorpe United (Division Four) v Matlock Town (Northern Premier League Premier Division).
The Gladiators reached the First Round for the first time since their famous 1976/77 run to the third round. They had beaten Rushall Olympic, Wilenhall Town and Conference sides Boston United and Enfield to get to this stage but lost 4-1 to The Iron who lost to fellow Division Four side Burnley 0-5 in a Second Round second reply after 1-1 and 2-2 draws.
Scunthorpe United were then managed by Mick Buxton who went to manage Sunderland.
