RYMAN DIVISION ONE (NORTH) - UPDATE

In the Ryman League Division One (North) it's still a race between Needham Market and Harlow for the league title followed by a race between AFC Sudbury, Brentwood Town, Wroxham, Dereham Town and Thurrock for the remaining three play-off spots. Brightlingsea Regent and Ware still have have an outside chance but will need to put together a good run of wins together to get back involved in the top five places.

Saturday sees Harlow Town have a home Essex derby game versus Aveley (10th place) and Needham Market hosting Soham Town Rangers (11th).

The game of the weekend comes when Wroxham (5th) entertain their Norfolk rival's Dereham Town (6th) for a play-off six pointer game. The Yachtsmen only have one defeat in their last six (which was a 0-1 home loss v Tilbury) in contrast to Town who have lost their last two games (against Barkingside and Thamesmead Town).

Romford only have one win in their last sixteen games (away at Thamesmead Town 0-1 on Tuesday 6th January) play Chatham Town (18th) at home on Saturday looking to record their first victory in eight games.  They need to pick up wins quickly to keep out of the bottom three they have recently dropped into following Barkingside's run of four wins (v Redbridge, Soham Town, Heybridge and Dereham) in row before they lost away at Harlow Town and Ware.

For Burnham Ramblers and Cray Wanderers it's looking increasingly like relegation as there is now a gap of 17 and 13 points between them and safety.

Burnham Ramblers entertain Brightlingsea Regent with Cray Wanderers travelling to Cheshunt on Saturday. The Ambers last victory came back on New Years Day when they won 2-1 at Ware - since then they have picked up just four points from the twenty-seven on offer from the games they have played. They certainly need a few more win to make sure they don't finish in the bottom three. A win versus Cray and then versus Barkingside in midweek would be most welcome at Theobalds Lane.
