SKYBET.COM PRICE UP THE FA VASE...SAINTS AT 10/1 LOOK GOOD VALUE

Sky Bet have recently added odds for the outright winners of the FA Vase with current Northern League Champions and top of the table Spenymoor Town rated favourites at 7/1 closely followed by United Counties League big-spenders St Neots Town at 10/1 with a host of other well known non-league names down to 250/1 shots Wellington Town and Forest Town.

SKYBET.COM CURRENT ODDS FOR THE FA VASE - TOP 12

SPENYMOOR TOWN 7/1
ST NEOTS TOWN 10/1
WHITELY BAY 14/1
CHALFONT ST PETER 14/1
KINGS LYNN TOWN 16/1
TIPTON TOWN 20/1
POOLE TOWN 20/1
NEW MILLS 25/1
SCARBOROUGH ATH 33/1

DUNSTON UTS 33/1

St Neots Town have splashed the cash on ex Aston Villa and QPR forward Stefan Moore earlier this season when he signed from Halesowen Town for a reported five-figure fee. The Saints playing at the new Rowley Park stadium certainly look like a club which will be moving up the pyramid in the forthcoming seasons. They celebrated being unbeaten in the league home and away for an amazing 12 months on Tuesday night by thrashing Desborough Town 10-0 which is the third time this season they have won by double figures!  They were pipped to the title by Daventry Town last season and this campaign look set to battle for the coveted promotion place with Kings Lynn Town along with Long Bucky who are also up the top of the division. Since joining the Cambridgeshire club Moore has scored 11 goals in 7 appearances which include three hat-tricks. His strike partner Shane Tolley has so far netted 24 times in 14 games which includes an incredible four hat-tricks. Tolley who came through the ranks at Petereborough United and then played for FK Riga in Latvia and Bohemians in Ireland before moving to the South-West to turn out for Truro City (where he won the Vase in 2007), Bideford and Barnstaple Town. Roy Essandoh (he of Wycombe Wanderers FA Cup teletext fame) is also in the Squad at St Neots.

The cold end believes that if manager Dennis Greene can keep his star players fit they will go far in this season's Vase competition making the 10/1 odds on offer very good value.

They face Essex Senior League Burnham Ramblers at home in the 2nd Round due to be played on the 13th November. Ramblers are 66/1 to win the Vase with some fan's joking they should be at least 66/1 to win at St Neots.

Fixtures for the top 5 favourite clubs in the 2nd round (all due to be played on the 13th November)

St Neots Town v Burnham Ramblers (66/1)
West Auckland Town (66/1) v Spenymoor United
Thackley (50/1) v Whitley Bay
Rye United (100/1) v Chalfont St Peter
Kings Lynn Town v Gorleston (80/1)

The cold end likes to look for value for money as after all gambling should be just a bit of fun so maybe a good outside bet could be Combined Counties League leaders Cherstey Town currently at 50/1. They went all the way to the fifth round last season before being beaten by perennial Vase battlers Whitley Bay in a replay. Bay are holders of the competition for the last two seasons so deserve to placed third favourites at 14/1. Chertsy Town face Wessex Premier side Moneyfields at home in the 2nd round and have won six of seven league games so should safely progress to the third round. Leiston, of the Eastern Counties League, who so nearly qualified for the FA Cup first round proper going down 2-3 at Blue Square South Dartford in midweek are currently rated at 40/1. Their high odds maybe down to the fact they travel to face Royston Town in the next round who are currently 66/1. The Crows were the last remaining SSMFL side in the competition last season getting to the fith round before going down to eventual finalists Wroxham 0-5. Whoever wins what is one of the ties of the round at Garden Walk will see their odds taken in by at least 10 to 20 points.

Who will be stepping out for a dream date at the National Stadium on Sunday 8th May 2011??  There are many twists and turns to go with a total of six rounds to go. Whichever teams battle through they will have earned their place to play at Wembley.
