KNEBWORTH RESERVES v HERTFORD HEATH RESERVES - JANUARY 2015

For today's Cold End flashback we return to a cold January 2015 day when Hertford Heath Reserves travelled to Knebworth Reserves for a Hertfordshire Senior County League game. The pitch at The Recreation Ground was covered in snow and frost at around 10.30am so it was thought there was no chance of the game being on. Luckily at lunchtime the sun made an appearance and melted the ice away to reveal the surface in a decent enough condition for football to be played. It was very soft and heavy in places so the players knew it would be difficult to keep going at 100% for ninety minutes.

It was a game that was largely forgettable and ended goalless with some strong tackles being put in. The closest to the deadlock being broken was when Knebworth's Ruben Sanchez hit the post in the opening minutes of the game - as pictured below.

Hertford Heath were managed by Barry Greenstreet at the time and the clean sheet was only their second of the season - Knebworth, under manager Frazer Triggs, had their second clean sheet in row in order only his second game in charge of the first team.
