RYMAN NORTH WEEKEND PREVIEW

This weekends Ryman Division One (North) fixtures are as follows -

Enfield Town vs. Wingate & Finchley
Grays Athletic vs. Brentwood Town
Harlow Town vs. Cheshunt
Heybridge Swifts vs. Great Wakering Rovers
Ilford vs. Maldon & Tiptree
Needham Market vs. Potters Bar Town
Redbridge vs. Waltham Forest
Thamesmead Town vs. AFC Sudbury
Tilbury vs. East Thurrock United
Waltham Abbey vs. Romford
Ware vs. Leyton

The competition for game of the day has to be between Town's match and Needham Market entertaining Potters Bar Town. Needham have a 100% record at their own ground of Bloomfields but in their last home game were given a good game by Cheshunt who despite having good periods of play failed to score until the 82nd and 95th minute to make the final score 3-2. It may have been a case of Needham not putting in their best performance of the season but still winning the game. After Tuesday's game The Scholars have now won three on the trot away from home so it looks a good game in prospect in Suffolk.

Another game to catch the eye comes at Scraley Road where in form Great Wakering Rovers play Heybridge Swifts who have stuttered of late only managing a draw at home to Waltham Forest and losing at Potters Bar Town. The point the Stags gained was their first on the road in the league this season.

FA Trophy heroes Romford and AFC Sudbury travel to Waltham Abbey and Thamesmead Town respectively whilst Harlow Town will be in a confident mood to beat local rivals Cheshunt after they beat Carshalton Athletic at Barrows Farm last weekend. The Ambers are without a win on the road in their six away league games so far and have only kept one clean sheet at bottom of the table Redbridge.

Talking of the Motormen they face a bottom of the table East London Derby six-pointer when Waltham Forest come to Oakside. Redbridge beat Leyton 2-0 at home in the London Senior Cup on Tuesday night and should of beat Potters Bar Town in their last league game being 0-2 up with only 6 minutes left. Depending on Leyton's result at Ware a win could see Kris Taylor's side move out of the relegation zone and five points away from the Stags who are currently without a win in the league and rooted to the bottom of the table. Ellis Skidmore, on loan from Ryman Premier Canvey Island, scored again in the defeat of Leyton so expect him to be on the score sheet on Saturday.

Tonw entertain W&F who after a slow start to their league campaign have stepped up and are now up the top of the league. With two league defeats on the trot it's a big chance for the Town to get back to winning ways by putting one over on one of our big rivals. We played W&F on the corresponding weekend of last season when Town went down 2-4 away from home and of course we all remember the famous play-off semi final victory.

COME ON TOWN!!!
